Visit by the Honourable Minister of Interior to the Ghana Refugee Board

The Honorable Minister of the Interior, Mr. Ambrose Dery, paid a working visit to the offices of the Ghana Refugee Board on Wednesday, 14th June 2017. He was accompanied by the Honorable Deputy Minister of the Interior, Mr Henry Quartey, the Chief Director at the Minstry, Mrs. Adelaide Anno-Kumi, the special assistant to the Minister of the Interior Mr. Bawumia as well as other high ranking officials of the Ministry.
The delegation was welcomed by the Executive Secretary of the Ghana Refugee Board, Dr. Kofi Anani and staff of the GRB Secretariat. The Executive secretary in his presentation outlined some of the challenges faced by the Ghana Refugee Board Secretariat. Among his request was for the Minstry’s support in the implementation of durable solutions for some refugees in protracted situations. He also called for a speedy process in reconstituting a functional Board for the Secretariat.
The Minister in his response, promised to take action on all the requests presented to him. He also took the opportunity to interact with staff. The Minister then inspected the various equipment for the printing of the Convention Travel Documents and the Refugee ID cards. He was also taken round the premises of the Board.
